(3/4 TIME)
D C A D
Henry was a young boy, he was born in Earhard Grove
D C A D
He lost his brother, sister there, and his mother I was told
They went to fetch the water, but the well had gone bad
His father was all Henry had

Now Henry is a young man, he farms in Earhard Grove
Fire took the homestead, so he left in a Model A Ford
He went north to the border, to work in the mill
He carries his memories still
D C D
Now Henry found his bride there at a millworkers dance
He raised himself a family, he got his second chance G D G D
His family was his pride and joy, he did the best he can C A D
To live the life of an honest man
SLOW DOWN (BACK TO 3/4 TIME)
D C A D
His picture hangs to remind me, of a time more sweet and slow
When simple things meant more to him, than I will ever know
He sits on a tire rim, with a fiddle in his hand
Henry was my Granddad, yes, Henry was my Granddad
